Selleys FlameFlex High Performance Sealant can be used for construction joints & gaps where a fire rated seal is specified*, and can be used for construction joints for walls, windows & doors in bushfire prone areas^. It can be used where an acoustic rated seal is needed.
Best for: Concrete, Brick, Timber, Plaster, Cement sheeting, Metals, Most plastics (Pre-test before use. Not for polyethylene, polypropylene or Teflon.)

How to Use
FlameFlex is not suitable for use in applications exposed to continuous temperatures greater than 80 degrees celsius. DO NOT use to seal around ovens, chimney flues, pizza ovens, etc.
- Ensure substrates are clean and free of oil, grease or loose particles by wiping with a cloth dampened with mineral turpentine.
- Cut seal and nozzle and fit to cartridge, then place in caulking gun.
- Hold caulking gun at 45° angle and gun sealant ahead of nozzle ensuring product is pushed into joint.
- Tool with a soapy solution before skinning occurs. For optimal joint design, use non-absorbent backing material (e.g. polyethylene backer rod) and appropriate joint width/depth. See technical data sheet for more information.
Limitations:
- Not suitable for PE, PP or PTFE
Handy tips
- In dry conditions, surfaces can be misted with water to speed up cure.
- Paintable with water-based paint, after product skins. Solvent-based paints may be used after first painting with a water-based paint. Some paints may require sealant to be sanded lightly before painting.

Clean Up
